Adaptations Unlimited began as a design/build firm in 1980. Our primary focus was dedicated to cabinetry and design, allowing us to channel the entirety of our energy and expertise into the creation of a warm and inviting environment for you and your home.

Our notable designs for kitchens and baths were soon featured on HGTV. Many of our other projects garnered NKBA awards, cabinet manufacturers’ design awards and ceramic tile distributors’ design awards. Our extensive work began to be published in 1986 in consumer magazines and trade journals. We were also featured in Craft-Maid and Candlelight Cabinetry's manufacturer catalogs.

As we became more involved with our renovations, we quickly realized how much of a burden -- and how stressful it was to many clients -- to hire several different contractors and find the perfect products for their renovation. We knew that if we could provide a full range of services and products to each client -- without sacrificing the quality of our workmanship -- we could save our clients the stress and cost of having to do this work themselves.

The company, as it stands today, has become a "one-stop-shopping" place. We embrace our "Renovation Made Easy" philosophy by offering 2 product showrooms, onsite consultations, and an outstanding staff which includes some of the industry's best designers, general contractors, skilled tradesmen and subcontractors. Our designers possess unmatched credentials; they are experienced Certified Kitchen Designers (CKDs) and experts in their field. Specializing in the design of cabinetry for period homes, including furniture pieces and total custom fittings, the quality of both their designs and blueprints are second to none.

Kathlyn Box is an award-winning Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer (CMKBD) who has served as past president of the Northern New England chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
